This privacy policy applies to the Pokio mobile app, the Pokio progressive web app, and the Pokio service operated under the Pokio name.

Information Pokio collects

Pokio may collect and process the following data when needed to operate the app:

  • account information, such as email address, login information, username, public profile, country, city, language, and profile type;
  • user-generated content, such as posts, comments, photos, videos, reels, stories, messages, reports, reactions, follows, events, tournaments, rooms, and support requests;
  • approximate or precise location when the user chooses to allow location features, for example to show nearby poker rooms, casinos, events, or tournaments;
  • camera, photo library, microphone, media files, and video data only when the user chooses to create or publish content using those features;
  • notification tokens and device information required to send account, social, message, safety, or service notifications;
  • technical data, such as device type, operating system, app version, diagnostics, stability events, security events, and usage events needed to maintain and protect the service.

How Pokio uses data

App functionality

Pokio uses data to create accounts, authenticate users, display profiles, publish content, show feeds, messages, rooms, events, tournaments, lives, notifications, and account settings.

Safety and moderation

Pokio uses reports, content, messages, profile data, and technical information to prevent abuse, review reports, protect users, enforce rules, and respond to child safety or legal issues.

Service improvement

Pokio uses diagnostics, analytics, crash, and usage data to improve reliability, security, performance, navigation, and product quality.

Nearby discovery

If location permission is granted, Pokio uses location to show nearby poker places and events. Location features can be disabled in the device settings.

Sharing of information

Pokio does not sell personal and sensitive user data. Pokio may share data only when necessary for app operation, security, legal compliance, or services requested by the user.

  • service providers may process data for hosting, authentication, database, storage, email, notifications, analytics, crash reporting, media hosting, or infrastructure;
  • public profile information and user-generated content may be visible to other users according to app features and privacy settings;
  • data may be shared with law enforcement, regulators, courts, or child protection authorities when legally required or necessary to protect users;
  • data may be transferred in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, with appropriate notice where required.

Security

Pokio uses HTTPS and modern cryptography for data in transit, access controls, authentication, storage protections, monitoring, and operational safeguards designed to protect personal data. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but Pokio works to protect the community and respond quickly to risks.

Retention and deletion

Pokio keeps personal data only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including account operation, service delivery, safety, legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and legitimate business records.

Users can request account deletion inside the app and outside the app at https://app.pokio.net/delete-account. When an account is deleted, account access is disabled and associated data is deleted or anonymized, unless Pokio must keep limited data for safety, fraud prevention, legal obligations, law enforcement, child safety, or defense of legal claims.

Permissions

Pokio requests runtime permissions only when needed for a feature. These permissions may include camera, photo library, microphone, notifications, and location. Users can change permissions in device settings at any time.

Children and child safety

Pokio is not directed to children. Pokio prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation, including CSAE, CSAM, grooming, sexual solicitation of minors, and any behavior that exploits or endangers children. See the public child safety standards at https://app.pokio.net/child-safety.

Gambling

Pokio does not offer online gambling, real-money betting, deposits, wagers, or monetary prizes. Pokio is a social poker community for publishing, following, discovering, and organizing poker life.

Changes to this policy

Pokio may update this policy when the app, legal requirements, or data practices change. The latest version will remain available on this public URL.
